Fall Damask Cookies

It's crazy to think that Thanksgiving is only a few days away!  These cookies are very simple to make and make a big statement.  The inspiration for these cookies came from Color Me Cookie.  She posted some Thanksgiving cookies that included a damask acorn on her Instgram about two weeks ago.  I just fell in love with look of that cookie and knew I had to make some.

All of these cookie cutters came in a set that I think I picked up at Jo-Anns a few years back.  Here is a similar set that would work great.  I used this fall color scheme for coloring my icing.  You can use any fall colors that you like.  Once you have your icing made, all you have to do is pipe and flood the cookies.  You could do more then one icing color per cookie if you want, I just wanted to keep it simple.  I had twelve cookies, two of each color.  I allowed the cookies to dry completely.  Then I used this damask stencil to airbrush on the pattern.  I used AmeriColor cooper pearl sheen.  If you don't have an airbrush machine, you can use Wilton's gold color mist to achieve the same look.  I think I will be repeating this look for Christmas and Easter.
