December Daily - Eating Snowflakes

I always loved the first snowfall when I was a child.  Now that I'm an adult, I love snow as long as I don't have to drive through it!  If you remember from Charlie Brown's Christmas (the cartoon with the sad little Christmas tree), December snow usually isn't as ripe as January snow and needs more sugar.  I made some December snowflakes with extra sugar to make sure they were ripe.

I used the largest snowflake cutter from this set.  Snowflakes can be made as simple or as elaborate you want.  For this one, I piped and flooded it with white icing and allowed that to dry overnight.  Then next day, I piped on the red design with piping icing.  The design can be drawn on with food color marker first if you don't want to free-hand it.  To make it even easier you can use stencils like these

Hope everyone has a beautiful white Christmas (If you live where snow is possible)!
