Palm Springs

Last week my husband and I took a short road trip to Palm Springs to celebrate my birthday.  The reason I chose Palm Springs in the middle of the summer, is because it's located near Joshua Tree National Park.  My husband and I are National Park junkies.  We've visited eight this year already, and hope to squeeze in a few more.

I made these cookies for us to snack on as we drove.  The cookie designs are based on the research I did of things to do in Palm Springs.  The colorful cactus was representing the hotel we stayed at, The Saguaro Hotel.  When searching for a hotel online, The Saguaro looked fun with a huge pool, daily yoga, and colorful decor.  The hotel is very pet friendly so that was a plus.  I saw online that there was a huge Marilyn Monroe sculpture in Palm Springs.  We found out when we arrived that she has been moved to New Jersey and I was a bummed about that.  Here are some photo highlights of our trip.  Some of the pictures were taken with my phone, so I apologize for the low quality of those photographs.  Hope you enjoy!

It was HOT in Palm Springs

I wanted a pink or purple room, but orange was good second.

The rooms I wanted.

What our room looked like.  Photo from hotel website.

Kirby enjoying sleeping in the bed.

Free yoga at the hotel. LOVE IT!

So colorful.

Old tram car

Tree pose in Joshua Tree.

Amazing sunset.

The hotel had free cruiser bikes to use.

Crepes from L'Atelier Cafe

I was in love with all the modern architecture in Palm Springs.

On the way home we took a little detour to check out Big Bear.  This brewery was fabulous.
