This past weekend I was asked to make some cookies for a bridal shower with a High Tea theme.  I don't receive many bridal shower cookie requests, so I was really excited to make these.  Making these cookies made me think of my bridal shower and what a wonderful time it was with all my friends and family.  

For the floral teapots, I used this cutter.  Fuchsia, flowers and monograms were the requested theme.  To create the floral teapots, I kept it simple.  On the green ones, I did brush embroidery technique.  For the fuchsia teapots, I hand-painted the roses and letter "E" on.

The cutter I used for the monogrammed teapots, I picked up at Cookie Con from the cookie cutter swap table.   After searching the internet, I found out it's a Robert Gordon Copper Cookie Cutter.  I was only able to find them for purchase here.  Here is how I created the two different monograms.

For the oval monogram you will need:

1. Small oval cookie/fondant cutter
2. Scribe
3. Icing
4. Iced cookie that is completely dry

Place the oval cutter on the cookie and use the scribe tool to trace the oval.  You are etching or scratching the surface of the dried icing.  I like to use this technique when I will be piping with white icing.  Using a food coloring marker can cause bleeding.

This is what the cookie looks like after tracing.  Next you can pipe right on the tracing and have a perfect oval on every cookie.  Once the oval dried, I painted on a gold "E".  I piped a border around the oval.

For the other monogrammed cookies, I piped and flooded the cookie white, followed immediately by adding fuchsia dots.  When looking at pictures of teacups and pots, I found some that were polka-a-dot with gold letters and I wanted to replicate it.  I didn't use a fancy script letter "E" because it would be hard to read with the dots.  I made a template with a heavier weight "E" so I could make royal icing transfers.  I painted the letter while they were still on the wax paper so I didn't get any paint on the cookie.
