Unicorn Project- Chevron
Hello July! Wow, it's crazy that half the year is over already. When I'm not working on special cookie creations for others, I like to work on some of my own cookie projects. I have a VERY long list of personal cookie projects. One of the big ones on my list is unicorns - all kinds of different unicorns.
So for July, I'm doing what I'm calling the Unicorn Project. I'm going to make a different unicorn for each day in July and maybe a few extras that spill over into August. I know it's not the traditional summer themes of ice cream cones, beaches, or watermelon cookies, but I like being different. I chose July because it's my birthday month and the best month of the year!
To kick off this month I started out pretty simple. I didn't want to get overwhelmed the first week. I love the look of chevron. I've made flags, pumpkins, and Christmas trees with chevron. It's modern and like I said, it's a pretty simple look to achieve.
I own eleven different unicorn cookie cutters, which helped make this project a little easier. This unicorn head can be purchased here. I started off by piping and flooding the cookie with white icing and allowed it to dry. The next day, I came back with my airbrush machine and added the chevron pattern. I used this stencil. I used silver, pink and purple sheen. The purple came out very splotchy (I don't know what's up with my airbrush machine).
I hope you come back and check out the all the unicorns I have this month!
