Unicorn Project - Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday!  I love having a summer birthday; July is the best month of the year in my mind.  There is the Fourth of July, National ice cream month, and weather is beautiful, warm and everyone is in good spirits.

I was originally going to make monogrammed cookies with the letter "T" on them.  Then I found this image of a unicorn with a ribbon banner.  I liked how the image looked like a tattoo or that a message could be applied.  I knew I could make that image into a cookie and write Happy Birthday on it.

To create this cookie I used this unicorn cutter and this ribbon cutter is from WiskedAwayCutters. I didn't see the ribbon on their site when I checked for this post.  I combined the two before I baked them.  I piped the blue section of the banner portion first then I filled in the pink section.  Then I piped and flooded the whole unicorn white.  I used a star tip to pipe the mane.  I drew the outer eye shape and eyelashes with a food coloring marker.  Then I added a small amount of light purple icing, immediately I added the black portion.  I painted the gold stripes on the horn with airbrush sheen.  The final touches were drawing on the mouth and nostril, and placing a small white dot in the eye.
