Unicorn Project - Irish
I'm not Irish, but many of my friends are. When I lived in Minnesota, every St. Patrick's started with a parade in downtown St. Paul and ended at O'Gara's Bar. I have many fond St. Patrick's Day memories. My friend Sara requested I make Irish unicorns - these are for you Sara!
I used that same cutter I used to make these unicorns. I piped and flooded the body with white icing leaving the mane and tail un-iced. Next, I piped on the green tail. Once the body was completely dry, I piped white icing for the mane and covered it with St. Patrick's Day nonpareils. The nonpareils can't be purchased at this time of year. Just wait until next year closer to March. I picked mine up at Jo-Anns. I liked how yesterday's Lisa Frank unicorns looked with the purple shading around the outer edge, so I airbrushed on some green around the edges. Then I painted the horn and hoves with gold airbrush sheen. For the Celtic knots, I drew them on with food coloring marker first, then piped over them.
