Coffee and Doughnuts
It's Monday and what better way to start the week off than coffee and doughnuts. I could eat doughnuts all day everyday, but I would end up being very round. I'm dying to get to Portland and get my hands on some Voodoo Doughnuts. My love of coffee is a different story. I never had a single cup of coffee until I met my husband and he loves coffee and drinks it everyday. I may have one to two cups a week.
I really enjoy using this coffee mug because it's very versatile. I used it to make these coffee mugs back at Christmas time and these for my sister. I started off by piping and icing the the top of the cup white. While the icing was still wet, I added the grey shading. I wanted to make the cup portion different than plain white ones you always see. Kyle said to make the cups orange, so I made the cups a two tone orange. Once the orange was dry, I used a food coloring marker to drawn on where the coffee sleeve would be. I piped and flooded it with light brown icing. When I icing dried, I used black food coloring and a stamp from this set to stamp the sleeve. I like the message of "You Can Do It". Coffee can motivate us to do anything right!
For the doughnuts, I used a large and smaller circle. I used the same light brown to pipe and flood the doughnuts. Once the light brown was dry I created different doughnut designs on each with sprinkles and icing.
