50
So which team is going to win the big game this year? Another year and another set of football cookies. Since they are always different teams, I never get tired of making them. You can check out my previous years cookie here.
Each year I try to add in some cookies that I've never done before. This year both teams had something I could easily turn into a cookie. The Panther's Cam Newton with his superman touchdown routine and Payton Manning with his Nationwide commercials. I've been singing "Chicken parm you taste so good" all day.
When I started this set of cookies, I knew that I wanted to make a cookie that had a 50 on it. I came up with making the gold "50" like how it was on the 50-yard line all year. Here is how I created the cookies.
You will need:
- Scribe
- Thick green icing with a grass tip
- Cookie outline with green icing.
Start piping the grass. I started with the tip just above the cookie. I applied pressure and once the icing touched the cookie, I started to pull up. I used the scribe to fix any cattywampus blades of grass.
Once you have filled in the whole cookie, fill in any empty spots. Let the cookie dry for 15 to 20 minutes.
For the number "50"s, I made royal icing transfers and airbrushed them with gold. Once the grass was dry, I piped a thick white line on the cookie and placed the transfers on. I like how the cookie turned out. If I were to do it over, I would put the white line on first and then piped the grass around it. Hope everyone enjoys watching the big game today!
