Toy Story Baby Shower
I find it difficult when I get asked to make baby shower cookies with a character theme. Incorporating the baby items into the theme is challenging. Sometimes the baby items don't fit with the rest of the set. I was asked to have baby onesies and I used those to add the baby's name. I used the cloud wallpaper from the movie on the onesies.
Character cookies occasionally require special cutters with distinctive shapes. I don't have any Toy Story cookie cutters. All of these cookies were made using cutters that are close in shape.
When researching Toy Story showers, many of them were for boys which wouldn't work for me. The first thing that came to mind was pink and lime green. The lime green led me to the aliens and I wanted to incorporate a few of the supporting characters. I found this free Toy Story clipart that I used to make the aliens and Jessie. I used a football cookie cutter to create the alien faces.
Buttercup the unicorn cookie cutter is from here. I felt I had to add a unicorn for a girl's shower because all young girls love unicorns. Just forget the fact that the voice of Buttercup is a man's.
Rex was created with the dinosaur from this set. I had to add Rex because he's such a fun character in the movies. A T-Rex that's afraid of everything is funny.
For most of my set cookies, I have to add a plaque to put name on. I liked that I could use the Etch-a-Sketch for the name and "It's a Girl". It's nice to be able to incorporate more of the theme into the platter and create cohension.
