December Daily - They Love Snow

We don't get snow very often in Arizona.  When we do, it's usually not enough to make a snowman.  Growing up building snowmen was something I loved doing.  The picture below is of my dad and I after we built a huge snowman.  As you can see the snowman is about at tall as my dad, who is 6'3".  We had a two-wheeler because my dad made the snowballs so big he could not lift them.  I'm not sure how old I am here, I'm guessing six or seven.  This is one of fondest winter memories. Sometimes I miss the snow, while other times I'm very happy I live where it's warm.

For these cookies I used an old Wilton snowman cookie cutter that I purchased on Ebay.  I tried to see if I could find one, but I didn't have any luck.  You could use any snowman cookie cutter you have.   The cookie cutter has a top hat which I rounded off so I could create the stocking hats before baking.  I started out by piping and flooding the white and allowing that to dry.  Once the white was dry, I added the face, buttons, hat, and scarf.  I picked red and green for the hat and scarfs but they can be any color.  I added a little heart because I had some extra pink icing.
