Mystery Shape Monday

I love this project so much that I made two mystery shapes this week!  This week's shapes have a food theme to them.  Because ghosts are one of the simplest cookies to make, I wanted to do something to add interest.  I wanted to make two sets of boy and girl ghosts, so bows popped into my mind.  For the girls, I piped the hair bows directly on with purple icing.  For the boys I made royal icing transfer bow ties.  I painted the the lines on with food coloring.

Most of the time when you see an image of a witch, she has a hat on.  I knew I didn't want this witch to have a hat, so I had to think of what I wanted her hair to look like.  The first witch I thought of was Bellatrix Lestrange from the Harry Potter movies.  I made her hair all curly and crazy with a small bun on top.  To create her eyes, I made royal icing transfers.  Next time I make these cookie I would make the nose more three-dimensional.

Cookie Cutters

If you haven't figured it out yet, the cutters are a strawberry for the ghosts and a beet for the witch.  I'm not sure where the strawberry is from; I tried to find it on the internet with no luck.  The beet is from this Etsy shop.
