Subway art has been huge the last few years - it's all over Pinterest and Esty. People have created subway art for everything from holidays to newborns. What I love about subway art is the combination of font sizes and types. The combinations of fonts are endless. You can use traditional, modern, serif, and handwritten fonts. Plus there are no graphic design rules for it: anything goes. I just used food coloring markers to write on the cookie because it is a lot easier and faster than piping icing. How simple is that?
I know in my posts I say that I use food coloring markers, here is a link to some. I used the pink, purple, and blue from this set. This unicorn cutter was purchased from H.O Foose. I've order several cutters from them. This particular cutter is no longer available when I checked their site. This and this are the two closest ones I could find. Both of these cutters are smaller than mine. My cutter measures 6 inches from bottom of the foot to top of the head.
I have 1300 different fonts on my computer. I went through the fonts and picked out which ones I liked and printed out a page full of the word "unicorn". Then I jumped in and started replicating the fonts I liked on the unicorn with food coloring marker. To fill in the empty spaces I added some doodles.
