Unicorn Project-Winged

Today I made winged unicorns.  The only thing better than a unicorn is one that can fly.  My husband has his pilot's license and works in the aviation industry.  This cookie is dedicated to him.

To create these cookies I used two cookies cutters and combined the cut outs pre-baking.  I used the middle size leaf from this set.  It looks like that set is discontinued.  You might be able to find it on Ebay or I think something like this cutter might work.  The unicorn cookie cutter I used was this one.  I piped and flooded the the unicorn white and allowed it to dry.  Once the white icing was dry I, used gold airbrush sheen to paint the hooves and horn.  I took thick light blue icing and created the scolloped texture on the wings. Once it had dried, I added a touch of gold to the wings.  I piped additional white icing to the tail and mane.  For the face, I drew an almond shape for the eye with a food coloring marker.  Then I used a small amount of black, light blue and white to finish off the eye.  All the other small details were drawn on with the food coloring marker.
