No, I'm not talking about the push-ups everybody hates to do. I'm talking about the fun ice cream kind. That delicious orange flavored ice cream made easy to hold and eat was my childhood favorite. On a hot summer's day, nothing hits the spot better than some kind of ice cream. I remember as kid having Flintstones push-ups. I'm not sure what the Flintstones had to do with ice cream, but I enjoyed those push-ups.
I've made many different kinds of ice cream cookies before and wanted to make something new. I used this popsicle cookie cutter to create the push-ups. I cut the cookie in half before baking. I didn't do very well on documenting the process this time. These cookies were pretty simple to make, so I had them completed before I realized I didn't take any photos. I drew on the pushup shape with a food coloring marker. I piped and flooded the push-up holder white. While the icing was still wet, I piped on the red, yellow, and blue dots. When that section was dry, I piped on the orange ice cream adding a small white highlight. I iced this section in two parts to create the line that defines the top from the side. Then I added a white handle with tiny bit of grey to define it as the handle.
