Unicorns make me happy. They're probably my favorite cookies to make. If you haven't seen all my unicorns from last summer, go check out any of my unicorn project posts.
I was at church a few weeks ago and there was a guest priest speaking. He started out by asking what the difference between faith and believing is? Then he said, "you can believe in them [unicorns] but we all know they're not real." I pretty much stopped listening to him at that point. I think believing in something that makes you happy and brings a smile on your face is perfectly fine, whether it's real or not.
I found this unicorn cutter here. There are some other really great unicorn cutters available too. I used the birthday girl's favorite colors. I had made her these cookies a couple years ago. Her favorite color hasn't changed. To get the bright pink and purple icing, I used Wilton food coloring. I find Wilton pink and purples are better than Americolor. I used gold luster dust to color the horns. I drew the eyelashes and nostrils on with a fine tip black food coloring marker.
I hope Emalee had a great birthday!
