Batman

Who is excited about going and seeing the new Lego Batman movie this weekend?  I loved all the Batman movies that had Christian Bale as Batman, but I won't call myself a huge Batman fan.  It's nice that the Lego Batman is more kid-friendly.  Cartoon movies aren't my thing but this Batman movie looks like it could be really funny.  I'm not sure I will see it in theaters, but might watch it when it comes out on streaming.

I made these Batman cookies over a year ago during Christmas time.  I was already posting so many Christmas cookies I thought adding Batman cookies would be weird.

If there is one color I dislike using the most is black.  It stains everthing it touches and discolors people's mouths.  It's hard to avoid when asked to make Batman logos.  I  knew right away I wanted to airbrush the bat on.  I know it's still using black, but a thin layer of airbrush is better then an icing bat.  I used my Shilloute Portrait to create a stencil with acetate.  I had to hand-cut the cookies to get the correct oval shape.  Once the cookies were baked, I took a measurement of the cookies so I knew what size to make my bat stencil.   After that, the cookies were pretty simple.  I piped and flooded with yellow icing. Once dried, I airbrushed on the bat and outlined the cookies with black icing.
