I feel lucky I was able to squeeze in a few cookies to celebrate Día de Muertos. I’ve been super busy with orders and haven’t had a chance to make any of the cookie ideas I have floating around in my head.
Back in September at Cookie Con, I took a class from Angela Niño of the The Painted Box. Since then, I’ve had so many ideas of cookies I could make using the products and techniques I learned from her class.
For this year’s sugar skulls, I used these cutters. I iced and flooded the cookies with white icing and then painted the faces. I stenciled the face with black icing using this stencil. I created the flower crowns using wafer paper that I colored in Angela’s class. I need to practice making roses more; they’re much harder to make then they look.
