A year ago on June 30th, the Prescott community was shaken by the lost of the 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hot Shots. Since then, many tributes and memorials have taken place in their names. This weekend a friend and fellow classmate of mine is showcasing some of her film photography in their memory. She asked me to make some cookies for the event. I originally made these cookies last year for a fundraiser. I did not know any of the firefighters personally, but making these cookies last year really helped with the healing process. I also made some more ribbons with the names of the fallen firefighters that look like this.
To make the firefighter cookies I used the Wilton Boy Perimeter Cookie Cutter and a small circle cutter. The boy cookie cutter is no longer available from Wilton's but maybe try Ebay. I used the small circle to add extra room on top of the head for the helmet. I kept the the faces simple and expressionless; I didn't want them to be happy or sad.
