Happy 65th birthday mom!
My mom is my biggest cookie fan; she is always asking me to send her cookies. With life being crazy, I don't always get the chance to. I knew for her birthday I better send her some cookies. Last year I made peonies with a Ball jar. I just love the look of flowers with a the Ball jar. My mom loves lilies, so when I saw some cookies on Pinterest, I knew I had to make them for her. The lily cookie cutter can be purchased here. If you don't want to purchase a cutter, a six-pointed star will work too. There was already a tutorial on how to make these beautiful cookies here. I followed the tutorial exactly. I used yellow for the Easter lily stamen, the tutorial used orange. If you don't own an airbrush machine, I think a can of color mist would work. I want to try making tiger lilies next.
For the Ball jars, I used this cookie cutter - mine is the 4.5 inch size. Last year when I made the jars, I used light blue icing. This year I iced the cookie with white icing and airbrushed it with blue pearl sheen. I wanted to create a shading effect with the sheen, but my airbrush machine was having a fit (it needed to be cleaned). I wish the jars would have turned out a better, but what can I do?
