Veterans Day

Every November the 11th we take a moment to reflect on those who have served our country in the armed forces.  Thank you to all those who have served our great country!

I used this scalloped, circle cookie cutter for all the cookies.  I started with the flag cookies.  I outlined the cookies with black icing, sectioning off the parts where the stars and stripes would go.  Then I flooded in the cookie with the red, white and blue icing.  I let them dry overnight.  The stars were created using this stencil and airbrushed on.

The white star cookie was simple.  I piped and flooded it white flood-icing and allowed it to dry.  I airbrushed on the stars using the same star stencil as the flag cookies.

The last cookies I made where the camouflage ones.  I used this tutorial for guidance.  All the different colors were made in advanced, with a thicker consistency than regular flood-icing.  I made blobs with each of the different colors.

I hope everyone had the chance to thank a Veteran today!
