This cookie brings me back to my middle school days. I have a ton of red and blue icing from some previous orders. I didn't want to make the normal Election Day cookies. That got me thinking, what can I make? I remember back to 1992 social studies class. We were given a map and had to color in each state red or blue as our homework for Election night. I followed the same concept except using a cookie and icing.
I have this craft die from a stamp set but I don't have the right machine to use it, so I used it as a cookie cutter. I placed it on the dough and hand-cut the shape. After baking while the cookie was still warm, I pressed the die into the cookie and it left an imprint of all the states on the cookie. Then I outlined and filled in each state as it was called last night. I went to bed at midnight Arizona time and six states had not been called. Today I just went with what Google said for who won each of those states. This was a pretty fun project at the beginning of the night. However, towards the end, I just wanted to finish the cookie and I was getting angry.
