Here we are at the start of another new year. Every year I see tons of wonderful New Years cookies on the internet. I've always wanted to be invited to a big New Year's Eve party that I could bring cookies to. These are the cookies that I made for the New Year's party I attended last night.
Most of the cutters (top hat, lips, champagne glasses, and confetti swirl) came from December cookie cutter of the month set from SheyB. To make some confetti swirls of your own you can use a snowman and turn it upside down. The champagne bottle came from here. I really love this scalloped plaque, I've been using it quit a bit recently. I used a striped and falling confetti stencil to create the backgrounds on the plaques. The person in the party hat is an upside down ice cream cone. For the clocks I airbrushed used this stencil.
The other day I saw Georganne's of LilaLoa post on how to make balloon cookies with a rattle cookie. I really wanted to add some balloons to my New Years set, but I don't own a rattle cutter. I started looking threw my cutters and found a balloon. I used the balloon cutter from Sweet Sugarbelle Celebrate Cookie Cutter Set. I airbrushed the cookie black and then piped a balloon on the top portion. Once the balloon was dry, I airbrush on the polka dot pattern and piped the string.
