A big part of Cookie Con every year is the Sugar Show. I entered a cookie the first year I went thinking everyone would do it. I was wrong; most of the people I met didn't enter. One of the categories of the Sugar Show is the mystery shape. The shape is unknown until the second day of the Conference. Everyone comes up with great ideas. I participated the first year, but it was too stressful to do again. It's challenging coming up with a unique design, decorating the cookie with icing, using products that you've never used and doing it in a room with hundreds of other decorators is not my idea of fun day of vacation.
I marvel each year at what people come up with, and I wish I was better at mystery shape challenges. After this year's Cookie Con, I set out the do that. I came up with Mystery Shape Monday and I made of list of seasonal items. Since it's October, they are Halloween and fall related. I pulled out a bunch of random shaped cutters I rarely use. Each Sunday Kyle will blindly select an idea out of a hat and pick a cutter out of the basket. Using just that, I will have to create a cookie. Then the following Monday, I'm going to post the cookies I made with an unconventional cutter. I hope this weekly challenge will help me push my creativity and find new ways to use my cookie cutters.
This week item was a scarecrow. Can you figure out what kind of cookie cutter I used?
