Most people dislike going to the dentist. I'm one of few who actually like going to the dentist. I have the same dental hygienist, Lacy, every time I visit. She is friendly and makes my cleanings a breeze. I had told Lacy about my cookies when I visited last fall. I decided to make some cookies for her as gift for being so awesome.
I first made some dental related cookies two years ago when I made these braces cookies. Dental themed cookies are not a big request. Surprising, I don't own any dental cookie cutters for that reason. If you want to get some dental cookie cutters, here is a great set. All of these cookies were hand-cut with shapes I found for my Silhouette Portrait (except for the mouth and rectangle). The teeth can be found here. It's hard to tell in my photo, but I added a pearl air brush sheen to teeth. I applied that after the icing had dried. The toothbrush, toothpaste and floss are from here. On the toothpaste and floss, I started icing the grey sections first and then moving to the white and finally adding the green details. The floss is not my favorite and I would definitely tweak if I ever make dental cookies again. On the toothbrush, I added some green sanding sugar to achieve that toothpaste look. The dental tools can be found here and the cutter I used was this one.
