Most of the year I'm not a big coffee drinker. When Christmas time rolls around, I love it! It might have to do with Starbucks peppermint mochas and cranberry bliss bars. This year Starbucks has a new Chestnut Praline Latte which is delicious. To celebrate my love for coffee at Christmas time, I made some cookies.
I used this coffee cup cookie cutter. For the coffee with the whip cream, I used the cupcake cookie cutter from this set. Before baking, I cut the top off the cupcake and coffee cup, then attached the top of the cupcake to the coffee cup. I started decorating the cookies by piping and flooding the cup red, allowing that to dry overnight. The next day, I piped and flooded the lid and whipped topping. While the whipped topping icing was still wet, I added crushed candy cane. I also piped and flooded the brown sleeves, allowing it to dry overnight.
I found this coffee cup shape for my Silhouette. I cut it out to use as a stencil for the design on the coffee cup. I used wax paper to cover all the areas of the cup I did not want to have design. I used silver sheen to air brush on the design. I added a message on the coffee sleeve. I took one of my Christmas scrapbook stamps and stamped it on the sleeve with white food coloring.
