The Christmas holiday season is now upon us. Making an Advent wreath cookie is one of my favorite cookie traditions. This is my eighth Advent wreath. I love making Advent wreaths because the wreath contains two of my favorite colors: pink and purple. This year's edition had a few firsts for me. I didn't have any leftover purple icing but I had navy blue, which is the secondary color for Advent wreaths.
Every wreath that I've made so far has been circular. This year I wanted to do something different. I started looking for images of Advent wreaths and many had all the candles lined up. I hand-cut this cookie based off a sketch I made. I airbrushed the cookie to give the candles their glow. I piped the poinsettias with a 65s tip.
The weekly themes of Advent are Hope, Love, Joy and Peace, all virtues we can use more of during the busy holiday season.
